As part of the Jones Street Resurfacing Project, the City is hosting a design workshop or “charrette” to address the public realm and placemaking on Jones Street, between 11th and 13th. We are inviting project stakeholders to participate in the two-day event on Tuesday, February 21st and Wednesday, February 22nd.
The event will be held at the Omaha by Design office at 618 South 11th Street. Stakeholders can drop by throughout the two-day event. There are also key times scheduled for project information, discussion, and feedback.
Tuesday, February 21st
8:30 AM to 11:30 AM – Project Introduction, Scope, and Goals
Review of Stakeholder Meeting Findings
Public Realm and Placemaking Priority Setting
12:30 PM to 2:00 PM – Focus Group Discussion on Historic Character
Focus Group Discussion on Pedestrian Realm
2:00 PM to 3:30 PM – Focus Group Discussion on Parking
Focus Group Discussion on Design Details/Landscape
Wednesday, February 22nd
8:00 AM to 9:00 AM – Project Team Recap of Previous Day and Presentation of Initial Concepts
5:00 PM to 6:30 PM – Presentation of Design Concepts and Identification of Preferred Concept for Future Refinement
The design concepts developed during the charrette will be presented during a public open house to be held later this spring and posted on the project website https://publicworks.cityofomaha.org/public-works-projects.
